How strictly should the Sabbath be observed? Must a sukkah be built adhering to the prescriptions in Jewish law in order to celebrate Sukkot properly?

Israeli-American artists and mother/daughter duo Andi Arnovitz and Hannah Gellman will debate their approaches to interpreting Halacha, or Jewish law. Not only are there denominational differences regarding how the law is followed, but also generational divides are on the rise as well.

The "100 Misunderstandings about and among Jews" exhibition touches upon this topic through immersive journalist A. J. Jacob’s kosher clothing and stone tablets, which he used in his yearlong project of following Jewish law literally for his book "A Year of Living Biblically" (2007). Jewish Museum Vienna curator Caitlin Gura will moderate the event.
