Affordable Art Fair NYC returns to the Metropolitan Pavilion from Wednesday, March 20 through Sunday, March 24. The Spring edition features presentations by over 75 galleries, many from right here in New York, and many more from across the country and across the world. MATERIALS FOR THE ARTS DONATION FOR ADMISSIONHave extra new or gently used art supplies laying around the house that you need to get rid of? We have a solution. Bring them to Affordable Art Fair on Thursday, March 21 from 6-8pm, drop them in a designated donation bin, and enjoy the fair for free! Our partner Materials for the Arts will then take all of the donated art supplies and distribute them to New York public schools. It’s the perfect way to organize and give back.
Examples of accepted items: paints, blank canvases, pencils, crayons, markers, unused journals, jewelry making supplies, craft supplies.
You will also find a special installation curated by Materials For The Arts featuring the following artists who prioritize sustainability and upcycling discarded materials in their practice: Machine Dazzle, Niceli Portugal, David Marini, John Landewe, Kate Rusek, and Ben Pederson.
ART AFTER DARKBring your friends, your date, your Mom, your dog (though no paws on the floor!) to soak up all the fun of our Art After Dark on Thursday, March 22 from 6pm – 9pm!
Friday, March 22 from 6-9pm, we invite you to experience the fair like never before in a new and unique way. Funny Face Bakery will be serving up tasty, edible, artworks at their live cookie piping station, while Curious Elixirs will be serving adaptogen infused cocktails to help you wind down. This Art After Dark is not to be missed.
THE ARTIST IS INOne thing we’ve heard consistently that people love about our fair is the chance to engage with our exhibitors’ artists. Well, we’ve listened and this Spring, we’ll be bringing back our newest program , The Artist Is In.
Saturday, March 23, exhibitors will bring along their artists, who will be in and out all day so that fairgoers have the opportunity to interact with the artist whose work inspires them. Throughout the day, you’ll know when a gallery artist is in by a little light in each booth.
STROLLER HOURSStroller Hours is a fun and accessible way for parents to enjoy the fair, discover art and shop with their little ones, hassle-free. There’s something for everyone at the fair so be sure to get your Stroller Hours tickets to enjoy our family-centered experience when we open our doors before the public on Sunday, March 24 starting at 10am.
Plan the perfect artsy weekend with your youngest collectors. Lounge on Play Kits provided by Lalo and join us for a mess-free arts and crafts and short and sweet programs at 11am, 12pm, and 1pm for our little art lovers led by The Babysitting Company and enjoy some healthy snacks thanks to our friends at Fresh Bellies.
