Leon Löwentraut sees painting as an artistic process of exploration and discovery: the outcome is open-ended.Leon Löwentraut's exhibition 'Believe in Progress' features fascinating new works created in his studio in Portugal. The exhibition reflects Löwentraut's artistic development and illuminates a profound evolution in his style and technique.
His theme: the past, the ephemeral and the need to constantly reinvent oneself. To leave the old behind and of course, to enter new worlds. The inner struggle involved, the constant confrontation with himself and his art, can be seen, for example, in his painting 'Floating Tears of an Artist', with a blurred background.
Other works show completely different stylistic elements: geometric shapes, straight lines and a flat application of colour form the basis of his androgynous figures painted with expressive gestures.
The exhibition includes an exciting mix of around 20 works, as well as 5 of his famous charcoal drawings. Each painting of 'Believe in Progress' offers a unique insight into Leon Löwentraut's creative process and emphasizes the themes of change and progress.
We invite you to experience this dynamic exhibition that celebrates the power of artistic progress!
