Theme #5: DendrophiliaCurated by: Julius Værnes Iversen (DK) Artist, designer, curator & florist
Plants and flowers are known to soothe, arouse, attract, and affect humans since the day of dawn.Nature and botanicals have always been desired by mankind. Floristry has traditionally been looked upon as an art form by itself by many cultures and especially by the artistic industries. Flowers in art can somehow sound banal or ordinary for many but flowers have been interpreted by artists in many creative, uplifting, and extraordinary ways.By curating a show where the pieces have been either inspired by botanicals, are made by botanicals, or created because of the love for botanicals its possible to showcase the need for floristry in people’s everyday life and even exhibit how the material is an important source of inspiration across different creative industries.
