With a wealth of collections, expert talks, a selection of young talents and the vibrancy of the MIAMI EXPERIENCE… The professional platform for major players on the North and South American markets closed its second session with high-quality results. The second session of MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS brought together some 300 exhibitors (including 180 new participants) from 26 countries, 6,215 visitors and over 170 journalists. The sophistication of the stands and the diversity of the collections were unanimously acclaimed, confirming the quality of a highly anticipated platform for industry professionals. And another much-appreciated highlight: the 2016 selection of Rising Talents. Visitors were given the opportunity to discover the world of Rafael de Cardenas, MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS’ 2016 Designer of the Year and those of six young talents from five countries in the Americas: Guilherme Wentz (Brazil), Samuel Amoia (New York), Ad Hoc (Mexico), Javier Gomez (Panama), Great Things to People (Chile) and Ben Medansky (Los Angeles).
The forecasting outpost of MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS, the Interior Design & Lifestyle Summit once again brought together the big names in the industry. Alan Faena, Humberto Campana, Carlos Couturier and other personalities from the world of design and decoration shared their expertise with talks intensely followed by listeners curious to understand the major trends of today and tomorrow, as well as to discover the projects of the most prestigious architects on the American continent.
Finally, the MIAMI EXPERIENCE program drew an informed audience to attend a festival of creative events. A partnership between MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS and the bright lights in Miami culture and lifestyle, the initiative included eight museums which generously opened their doors to visitors from M&O AMERICAS 2016. Three key spots for design and decoration – Miami Design District, Miami Ironside and Dcota Design Center – ensured a plentiful program of exhibitions, presentations, cocktail parties and other convivial events, while vibrant neighborhoods such as Brickell and Wynwood organized themed walks. Not to mention the Award Ceremony organized by MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS inside the Moore Building in honor of the architect Zaha Hadid, who designed the building’s architecture.
