London, May 2016 - A Celebration of All Things British: In a one-off experience that will present exceptional modern British food paired with art by some of the greatest British artists, Sotheby’s will host ‘the most wanted chef in Britain’, Ollie Dabbous, at a pop-up restaurant in our New Bond Street galleries – coinciding with the launch of our Modern & Post-War British Art exhibition.

Speaking about his approach to creating the menu for this event, Ollie said “This menu offers a new take on the very best of Great British food and incorporates elements that resonate with the incredible paintings and sculptures that will be on view. When creating each of the dishes I was drawn to the different colours and textures, particularly with the more shape-driven abstract artworks that diners will be surrounded by. I was also very interested in where the artists came from, and the regional stories behind the works, as I am passionate about the locations that I source ingredients from.”

Bringing his Michelin-starred experience to Sotheby’s London galleries for just three nights in June, Ollie’s bespoke six-course tasting menu will be paired with carefully selected fine wines to enhance the matchless experience in the midst of the exhibition of outstanding works by artists including Dame Barbara Hepworth and Frank Auerbach. The evening will start with a drinks reception featuring cocktails and the finest English sparkling wine by Nyetimber and a personal welcome from Ollie, followed by his intricately crafted menu that celebrates the very best of specially sourced British ingredients inspired by the colours, forms, subjects and stories that feature in this season’s Modern & Post-War British Art sale. This unique experience is limited to 70 diners per night and will cost £250 per person including wine.
