The new Bob Dylan 'Editions' exhibition offers the opportunity to view (and buy) original handwritten lyrics and drawings by the artist at the Halcyon Gallery, LondonFollowing the news of the sale of Bob Dylan's music catalogue to Universal last week, I wanted to share details about Editions - an exhibition of original paintings and prints by Dylan, including his own handwritten lyrics with accompanying illustrations. The exhibition opened on 7th December at the Halcyon Gallery in Mayfair, London (as well as being available internationally online via an impressive virtual display) and is already attracting phenomenal interest from Dylan fans all over the world.
Editions is a world-exclusive of rare, archival, limited edition portfolios, which features key 'Mondo Scripto' originals and prints of Dylan's most renowned lyrics handwritten in pen on paper and each accompanied by a corresponding graphite illustration. The exhibition offers visitors the rare opportunity to view as well as purchase the original handwritten lyrics and drawings by the famed musician, as well as his growing portfolio of artworks.
The Mondo Scripto drawings continue this dialogue between past and present, fixed and fluid, conducted by an artist who changed the relationship between music and words forever and Editions looks to explore the sheer breadth of Dylan’s achievement and impact on the world as an artist as well as a musician and poet. More information on the exhibition can be found in the press release below.
A few highlights of the Original Handwritten Lyric & Drawing sets include those from the well-known: Don't Think Twice Its Alight, Just Like A Woman, Blowin' In The Wind, It's All Over Now Baby Blue and Maggie's Farm.
The Halcyon Gallery have worked with Dylan over the past 15 years to develop his visual art after gallery director Kate Brown and President and founder of the Halcyon, Paul Green visited his very first exhibition held in Germany in 2007.
Do let me know if this is of interest for a story or if I can share anything further. We also have access to Paul Green and Kate Brown to speak about their relationship and working with Dylan should this be of interest.
