Hong Kong, 3 October 2016 #TTTOP, a special contemporary art evening sale guest-curated by Asian pop icon T.O.P, concluded tonight with triumph, realising a total of HK$136 million / US$17.4 million. Exceeding the pre-sale high estimate, this is also the highest-value sale of western contemporary art ever held during a major auction series in Hong Kong. At T.O.P’s will, a portion of the proceeds of this sale will benefit the Asian Cultural Council (ACC) to support emerging Asian artists. T.O.P, Guest-Curator of the sale, commented, ‘I am humbled by the support for #TTTOP. I hope that with a part of the proceeds going to the ACC, more young Asian artists will be able to develop their talents in a better environment.’ Yuki Terase, Specialist of Sotheby’s Contemporary Asian Art Department in charge of the sale, added, ‘We were thrilled to work with T.O.P to expose new audiences to the joy of art and collecting. Through video, social media, the web, and exhibitions in both Korea and Hong Kong, we introduced millions of young enthusiasts to T.O.P’s passion for art, and to the work of this special group of contemporary artists.’Four New Auction Records for Artist He Xiangyu’s 300g Gold, 62g Protein
